Job Description

Turner & Townsend is responsible for leading large-scale, complex digital transformation programs for clients. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on delivery management, ensuring projects meet client objectives and delivering measurable business outcomes. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will guide clients through digital strategy, technology implementation, and organizational change. As part of our Data & Digital growth strategy we are looking to appoint an experienced executive level leader to help accelerate the growth of our team within the Queensland region.

The Data & Digital Advisory Queensland Lead (Director) will be required to lead the growth of our data and digital advisory practice across Queensland. This is a senior, market-facing leadership role that blends trusted client advisory with team management and pipeline ownership. As the Data & Digital Advisory Queensland Lead you will be required to build a sustainable revenue pipeline and delivery team for the region.

To be successful in this role it is expected that you have held senior leadership roles within a consulting company and have experience leading large scale digital transformation projects within the built environment sector (energy and resource sector most preferred). Additionally, it is preferred that you have a pre-established network in region which can help drive growth and revenue for the business with immediate effect.

Key Responsibilities

Growth, Origination & Commercial Ownership

  • Generate your own work — originate opportunities through executive relationships, market presence and a strong personal reputation in the built environment and capital delivery market.

  • Build and own a sustainable pipeline of advisory work that underpins practice revenue and margin targets.

  • Lead pursuits end to end: shape client problems, develop compelling proposals, price and structure commercial models, and close.

  • Own operations and accountability for the data and digital advisory practice in Queensland, including revenue, utilisation and delivery margin.

  • Develop go-to-market strategies for priority accounts and sub-sectors, and build strategic partnerships (technology vendors, delivery partners, alliances).

Client Advisory & Delivery

  • Act as a trusted advisor to executives and program leadership on enterprise data and digital transformation projects.

  • Advise on the digital enablement and operating model for major capital programs — data strategy, program controls, reporting and assurance, and the technology backbone that supports them. This includes the experience deploying capital delivery focused software.

  • Lead and quality-assure delivery of complex engagements, holding overall accountability for client outcomes, risk and commercial performance.

  • Translate emerging technology — analytics, automation, AI and connected-data approaches — into practical, outcome-focused solutions for capital-intensive clients.

Service Line & Capability Development

  • Support/ Lead the establishment of new service offerings that address client needs.

  • Shape the practice's investment priorities and make the case for capability, tooling and partnership investment.

  • Bring an innovation mindset — continually evolving offerings ahead of market demand.

Market Positioning & Sector Focus

  • Establish a clear market voice in Queensland's energy and natural resources sector (preferred focus), and more broadly across built environment and capital delivery.

  • Build the firm's profile as a leading data and digital advisor — thought leadership, insight papers, and presence at key industry events and forums.

  • Develop and leverage executive-level relationships with owners, operators, delivery agencies and government.

  • Support the wider business with sector insight, market positioning and cross-sell into adjacent service lines.

People & Team Leadership

  • Build a team around you — attract, hire and develop the practitioners needed to deliver a growing pipeline.

  • Create a high-performing, inclusive culture that develops future leaders and retains talent.

  • Lead workforce and recruitment planning aligned to pipeline and growth ambitions.

  • Coach and mentor senior staff, and model the standards of client service and delivery excellence expected of the practice.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of leadership experience across digital, technology, transformation, consulting or major-program delivery.

  • Demonstrated built environment experience, a strong understanding of how capital projects and asset-intensive organisations operate.

  • Capital delivery systems experience (preferred) familiarity with the platforms and controls used to plan, manage and report major capital programs (e.g. project controls, cost and schedule, document and data management, digital delivery / BIM environments).

  • Proven digital transformation experience, leading data and technology-enabled change that delivered measurable business outcomes.

  • A demonstrated ability to generate their own work, a track record of originating opportunities, winning engagements and building a pipeline.

  • Experience building and leading teams, including hiring, capability development and workforce planning.

  • Experience developing new service offerings or propositions (e.g. Digital PMO, enterprise transformation, program assurance).

  • Sector focus in energy and natural resources is strongly preferred; broader infrastructure, utilities or resources experience will also be considered.

  • Strong understanding of contemporary data platforms, analytics, automation, AI and cloud, and how they apply to capital-intensive environments.

  • Experience managing executive, board and government stakeholders.
