Your role
The Client Services Officer provides a range of clerical and administrative services including, but not limited to, responding to client enquiries, data entry and records management. In Local Courts, the Client Services Officer is primarily involved in assisting in the operation of court rooms.
The Client Service Officer is required to travel regularly to surrounding courts to provide circuit support. As such, the successful candidate must hold a current driver’s licence and be willing to travel and stay overnight when required.
What you’ll do
- Support the efficient daily operation of the court by coordinating with judicial officers, legal professionals, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure proceedings ran smoothly and on schedule.
- Anticipate and respond promptly to the requirements of the judiciary and courtroom stakeholders, providing accurate information and administrative support in a fast-paced environment.
- Deliver high level administrative services, including case management, document processing, registry support, and maintenance of confidential court records.
- Accurately enter, update, and maintain data across court management systems, ensuring compliance with legislative, procedural, and organisational requirements.
- Provide professional and responsive client service, assisting diverse clients with court processes while managing sensitive and complex enquiries with discretion and empathy.
- Demonstrate adaptability by working across multiple jurisdictions and teams, supporting continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring compliance with workplace policies, ethical standards, and health and safety requirements.
What we’re looking for
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy when handling sensitive information, legal documents, and competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building positive working relationships with diverse stakeholders in professional and often high-pressure environments.
- Sound judgement and discretion when managing confidential information and responding to complex or sensitive situations.
- Highly organised and resilient, able to prioritise tasks, manage changing demands, and remain calm and effective under pressure.
- The successful candidate must have the capacity to work in an environment that may involve potential exposure to psychosocial hazards related to the range of services provided in a large regional court environment.
