We at Hitachi Energy are seeking an experienced Business Development & Sales Manager – Telecom Systems to lead business growth across our Automation & Communication (AC) portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven professional to expand our telecommunications, protection, and control business within the power and utilities sector while building strong customer partnerships and delivering innovative solutions.
How you'll make an impact
- Develop and execute sales strategies to grow the Telecom Systems business and achieve revenue, profitability, and market share targets.
- Identify and convert new business opportunities across utilities, EPC contractors, industrial customers, and channel partners.
- Build trusted customer relationships and act as the primary point of contact throughout the sales cycle.
- Lead customer engagements, presentations, commercial negotiations, and contract discussions.
- Manage the sales pipeline, forecasts, proposals, and opportunity tracking through CRM tools.
- Develop competitive commercial offers and drive winning bid strategies.
- Collaborate with account managers, bid and proposal teams, product specialists, and regional stakeholders to secure new business.
- Support risk management, bid/no-bid decisions, and governance processes.
- Champion a strong Health, Safety, and Environmental culture aligned with Hitachi Energy's Zero Harm commitment.
Your background
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within Telecommunications, Power Utilities, Transmission & Distribution, Substation Automation, or Industrial Automation.
- Proven experience selling Telecommunications Systems, Protection & Control, SCADA, Substation Automation, or Utility Communication solutions.
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and experience managing complex technical sales opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to build customer relationships, influence stakeholders, and deliver business growth.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and strategic planning skills.
