Staff Engineer - Client Experience Who We AreYuno is the AI-native operating system of global commerce, powering the financial infrastructure of enterprise merchants, banks, and wallets. Through a single API, Yuno connects them to pay-ins, payouts, fraud prevention, KYC/KYB, and stablecoins globally, so they can operate everywhere. Agnostic by design and connected to 1,000+ payment methods and 460+ integrations in 190+ countries, Yuno optimizes acceptance rates, reduces costs, and strengthens security through specialized AI agents that learn from every transaction. Global brands including McDonald's, NetEase Games, GoFundMe, and Rappi run their payments on Yuno.
About The RoleYuno is looking for a Staff Engineer to be a senior technical leader across our engineering organization — architecting the robust, scalable systems that process payments for global brands, and raising the technical bar for the teams around you. You'll take on our hardest technical problems, shape architecture and technical strategy, and turn complex, real-world payment challenges into elegant, maintainable solutions.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll still design and build, but your impact comes as much from mentoring engineers, driving technical vision, and making the decisions that shape the platform's direction as from the code you write.
How AI Shows Up in This Role-
As a Staff Engineer at an AI-native company, you'll shape how AI is used across engineering — architecting AI-native systems and helping define the AI-driven development practices the whole org adopts
-
AI is our default execution layer: you're expected to use AI-assisted tooling fluently across design, implementation, testing, and review, and to bring good judgment to how the team does the same
-
Technical leadership and mentorship — set a high bar for technical excellence, mentor and coach engineers, and foster a culture of continuous improvement across the team
-
Architecture and system design — architect and build robust, scalable, and maintainable systems, tackling the deepest technical complexity in the platform
-
Complex delivery — drive the successful delivery of complex, cross-team projects, making sure they meet business goals and ship on time
-
Technical vision and strategy — contribute to the technical vision and roadmap, and help define and execute engineering strategy aligned with company goals
-
Cross-functional collaboration — work closely with product, design, and stakeholders, translating technical concepts clearly for technical and non-technical audiences alike
-
Quality and performance — optimize performance and scalability through efficient algorithms and clean code, and safeguard quality through rigorous testing and reviews
Within your first 6–12 months, you've led the architecture of at least one major system, become a trusted technical voice on strategy and roadmap, and measurably raised the engineering bar through mentorship, reviews, and the standards you set.
