Help Shape the Future of Climate Action in the World's Leading Financial Centre
The City of London Corporation is delivering one of the UK's most ambitious local authority climate programmes. Through our Climate Action Strategy, we are driving the transition to net zero, strengthening climate resilience, accelerating nature recovery and working with businesses, communities and partners to create a more sustainable Square Mile.
We are seeking an exceptional Climate Action Stakeholder Engagement Lead to shape the narrative, partnerships and stakeholder mobilisation needed to deliver this vision. This is a unique opportunity to influence how climate action is understood, championed and delivered across one of the world's most influential cities.
The Role: This is a strategic leadership role at the heart of the Climate Action team. Working closely with the Climate Action Director, senior officers, elected Members and external partners, you will lead the City Corporation's approach to climate engagement, communications and partnership development. You will own the strategic narrative for climate action, ensuring that climate remains central to the City's resilience, competitiveness and long-term success.
You will:
-
Lead the strategic direction for climate action engagement and communications across the City Corporation and the Square Mile.
-
Shape and promote a compelling climate action narrative that inspires action and builds confidence in the City's leadership.
-
Develop and oversee a city-wide stakeholder engagement strategy spanning businesses, residents, workers, students, charities, Livery Companies, local authorities and regional partners.
-
Lead campaigns, events and communications programmes that drive engagement, behaviour change and measurable climate action.
About You: We're looking for a strategic thinker, skilled communicator and relationship-builder who can operate confidently in a complex and politically sensitive environment.
You'll bring:
-
Significant experience delivering climate, sustainability, public policy or stakeholder engagement programmes.
-
Experience influencing senior leaders, elected representatives and/or external stakeholders.
-
Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to translate complex climate issues into compelling and accessible messages.
-
Experience developing strategic communications campaigns and engagement approaches.
-
A passion for climate action and a commitment to creating positive change.
Why Join Us? The City of London Corporation offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in one of the world's most influential and dynamic cities. As well as helping to shape climate action across the Square Mile, you will work on one of the Corporation's highest-profile strategic priorities, collaborating with senior leaders, elected Members, businesses, government bodies, academic institutions and community organisations. This is an opportunity to join an ambitious and supportive organisation that is committed to tackling climate change, driving innovation and creating positive outcomes for people, places and businesses. You'll be part of a passionate, growing team, with the chance to develop your expertise, build a high-profile network and play a leading role in delivering programmes that have lasting environmental, economic and social impact.
Apply Now! If you're excited by the prospect of shaping the future of climate action in the City of London and leading strategic engagement on one of the Corporation's highest-profile programmes, we'd love to hear from you.
