The Manager, Inflight Crew Operations is a member of the Inflight Base Operations team within the Inflight group. This  manager is responsible for leading and managing Inflight Managers and Administrative Support Staff, collaborating with other leaders to support operations, and developing team members to achieve reliability metrics and operational success. 

What you'll do

  • Ability to work collaboratively and in tandem with fellow Operations Managers and Regional Director. 
  • In concert with the Base Manager, owns the activities that will make the base successful. 
  • Interpret and apply corporate policy, procedures and the APFA collective bargaining agreement  
  • Works together with the Base Manager and with local APFA representatives as needed to reach interest-based decisions for the company and Flight Attendants 
  • Collaborates with key station personnel at the base, SV8, and the Inflight Dining and Service team to enhance the overall customer service experience 
  • Strategize with key personnel to decrease delays, ensure on-time departures, and enhance the flight attendant and customer experience. 
  • Identifies, leads, and motivates a strong management team in achieving the department's overall objectives, while being an advocate for Flight Attendants at the base 
  • Manages the daily operation while continually seeking opportunities to reduce costs and increase our internal customer service through engagement. 
  • Coaches and counsels team members to ensure a thorough understanding of and compliance with all Company and departmental policies, procedures, and regulations. 
  • Develop and mentor the staff to ensure competent oversight in operation and initiatives. ​​​​​​​
All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience 
  • Experience in working with a diverse group of employees 
  • Familiarity with functional area
  • Must be able to work shift work, including weekends and holidays. 
  • Must be able to work on-site at assigned base/location. 

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Previous supervisory experience and knowledge of AA budgeting, policies, and procedures 
  • Current Inflight, Customer Care, or other operational experience in a leadership role  
  • Prior policy administration experience 
  • Flight Attendant experience 
  • An understanding of working with a contract labor group is desirable

  • Ability to manage management, non-management and contract labor work groups 
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and effectively coordinate multiple projects at the same time

  • Innovative and proactive in addressing workforce issues 
  • Ability to build consensus with various groups 
  • Strong PC skills
