Sulky's Restaurant and Bar Bartender - Part Time (Harrah's Hoosier Park)

JOB SUMMARY

Mixes and serves alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks to patrons of Sulky's Restaurant.

HOW YOU WILL CREATE THE EXTRAORDINARY

• Takes orders from customers or server.
• Inventories supplies at beginning and end of shift.
• Mixes ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
• Serves wine and draft or bottled beer.
• Collects money for drinks served.
• Orders or requisitions liquors and supplies.
• Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive display.
• Slices and pits fruit for garnishing drinks.
• Prepares all daily paperwork at the end of the shift.
• Replenishes bar snacks such as chips, pretzels, and nuts.
• Follows prescribed sanitary safeguards in handling all food and cleaning all surfaces.
• Will abide by all safety requirements as outlined in the Safety Manual or as required by individual departments and/or job functions.

• Other duties as assigned.

   

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Proficient in English verbal and written.
• High School Diploma/ GED or one to three months related experience and or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have an outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude. Must be comfortable initiating conversations and a fun environment for guests.
• Flexible to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays if applicable.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and kneel repetitively.
• Specific vision abilities such as close, distance, color, depth and ability to adjust focus.
• Ascend and descend stairs and maintain equilibrium for an extended period.
• Must be able to work from a standing position and/or walking motion for extended period.
• Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before a group of customers or employees.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Promote a positive influence in the company and company sponsored events. Maintain a professional work environment with management and staff.
• Must have a valid liquor license.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a license from the Indiana Horse Racing Commission.
