We're Hiring: Chief Product Officer (CPO) / Deputy IT Director

Compensation: CHF 200,000–240,000 gross per year + Performance Bonus

We are partnering with a rapidly growing international FinTech & Payments organisation to appoint an experienced Chief Product Officer (CPO) / Deputy IT Director .

This is a senior executive leadership position for an accomplished technology and product leader who combines strategic vision with operational excellence. Working alongside the CIO and Executive Board, you will shape the company's product strategy, technology roadmap, and delivery organisation while ensuring the development of secure, scalable, and market-leading payment solutions.

Your Mission

As CPO / Deputy IT Director, you will play a pivotal role in defining the future of the organisation's products and technology landscape. You will bridge business strategy, product management, engineering, and delivery to accelerate innovation, improve customer experience, and enable sustainable business growth.

You will build and lead high-performing teams, drive technology transformation, and ensure the organisation remains at the forefront of the rapidly evolving FinTech and Payments industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the company's product and technology strategy in alignment with business objectives.
  • Partner closely with the CIO and Executive Leadership Team on strategic technology initiatives and organisational growth.
  • Lead multidisciplinary Product, Engineering, Architecture, Delivery, and Technology teams.
  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle, from market strategy and product discovery through delivery and continuous optimisation.
  • Drive innovation across Payments, Digital Banking, Embedded Finance, Open Banking, and Financial Services platforms.
  • Ensure successful execution of complex technology and product transformation programmes.
  • Build, mentor, and develop high-performing leadership teams while fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with Commercial, Operations, Compliance, Risk, and Technology stakeholders to deliver measurable business value.
  • Support the scaling of engineering capabilities, delivery organisations, and technology operations.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, governance, budgeting, and organisational development.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional experience within Product Management, Technology, Engineering, or Software Delivery.
  • At least 5 years in a senior leadership role such as CPO, VP Product, Head of Product, IT Director, Engineering Director, or Deputy IT Director.
  • Proven experience within the FinTech, Payments, Banking Technology, Payment Processing, Payment Gateways, Acquiring, Issuing, Digital Wallets, Embedded Finance, or Open Banking sectors.
  • Strong understanding of modern software engineering, cloud-native architectures, APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and enterprise platforms.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary Product and Engineering organisations.
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex, customer-facing digital products at scale.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to balance customer needs, technology strategy, and business objectives.
  • Experience establishing, scaling, or leading Technology Delivery Centres, Shared Service Centres, or Global Capability Centres (GCCs) will be considered a strong advantage.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation, and executive communication skills.
  • Fluent English is required; German or French would be considered an advantage.
  • Willingness to undertake moderate international travel.
