We are looking for a Senior Hardware (HW) Engineer – Rail Automation

You’ll make a difference by:

As a Hardware Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering team delivering hardware solutions for Mainline and Metro Rail automation projects in India and international markets. The role focuses on the Engineering, review, and delivery of Automation cabinet circuits, outdoor hardware engineering, and associated engineering documentation, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, applicable standards, quality expectations, and project timelines.

  • Engineer, review, and maintain Automation cabinet circuit designs, outdoor hardware designs, and associated engineering documentation (Book of Circuits) for rail automation systems.
  • Understand system requirements and translate them into hardware engineering solutions that meet customer, project, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Work closely with Delivery Managers and System Engineering teams to ensure correct interpretation of requirements and successful implementation of hardware solutions.
  • Ensure timely delivery of engineering work products while maintaining the required quality standards and project commitments.
  • Prepare and review engineering deliverables in accordance with customer specifications, project requirements, applicable standards, engineering guidelines, and defined processes.
  • Coordinate with engineering stakeholders across global locations to ensure technical alignment and effective execution of project activities.
  • Collaborate with project, manufacturing, and engineering teams to support implementation, technical discussions, and issue resolution.
  • Utilize specialized in-house engineering tools as well as industry-standard engineering tools for design, documentation, and review activities.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders to support engineering deliverables and customer expectations

You’ll win us over by:

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Instrumentation, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline.
  • You have 4-8 years of experience in hardware engineering, testing, industrial control & automation systems. Experience in safety-critical systems are preferred.
  • Experience in railway signalling, rail automation, or related engineering domains will be an advantage.
  • Experience in Book of Circuits, Cabinet Wiring Diagram, Cable Plans, Earthing & Bonding, Room Layouts, and Power Supply Systems.
  • You have Experience in preparing and reviewing engineering designs, schematics, circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, interface designs, or related technical documentation.
  • You have the ability to understand system requirements and translate them into engineering deliverables.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication equipment such as Ethernet switches, communication interfaces, gateways, or industrial servers will be beneficial.
  • Exposure to support engineering functions such as Design Management, Requirement Management, Configuration Management, Quality, Testing, Validation, and Safety are desirable.
  • You possess a good understanding of engineering processes and effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of railway signalling principles, design engineering practices, and CENELEC standards and processes (EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129) will be an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar tools for preparing above circuits.
  • Knowledge of project management principles for project realization and execution
  • Fluent English essential both written and oral, knowledge of German / Spanish an asset
  • Willing to work as team member on international projects.
  • Ready to relocate anywhere in India.
  • Willing to travel for onsite works.
