OUR OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a skilled Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in administering Microsoft SQL Server environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL Server Failover Cluster Instances (FCI), Always On Availability Groups, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and high availability/disaster recovery (HA/DR) solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security, and reliability of mission-critical SQL Server databases.

YOU WILL

  • Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances.
  • Administer SQL Server environments across Development, Test, UAT, and Production.
  • Design, implement, configure, and support SQL Server Failover Cluster Instances (FCI).
  • Configure, administer, and troubleshoot Always On Availability Groups.
  • Perform planned failover, disaster recovery testing, and high availability validation.
  • Monitor SQL Server performance, availability, and capacity using monitoring tools.
  • Manage database backup, restore, and disaster recovery using SQL Server native tools and maintenance strategies.
  • Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and index management.
  • Troubleshoot database, replication, clustering, and Always On-related issues.
  • Implement database security, user management, encryption, auditing, and compliance controls.
  • Automate routine DBA tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, SQL Server Agent, or scripting tools.
  • Support database migrations, upgrades, and version compatibility assessments.
  • Work closely with infrastructure, application, and support teams to resolve production issues.
  • Prepare and maintain database architecture, operational procedures, and disaster recovery documentation

Requirements

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE YOU NEED

  • Minimum 5 years of Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server 2016, 2017, 2019, or 2022.
  • Proven expertise in SQL Server Failover Cluster Instances (FCI).
  • Strong experience implementing and supporting Always On Availability Groups.
  • Experience with Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC).
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server backup, restore, recovery, and maintenance strategies.
  • Experience with database performance tuning, execution plans, indexing, and statistics.
  • Strong T-SQL programming and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with SQL Server Agent, Database Mail, Maintenance Plans, and SQL Profiler/Extended Events.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for SQL Server administration.
  • Knowledge of database security, encryption, Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), and auditing.
  • Experience working on Windows Server environments.
