The Buys will be responsible for the cost-effective procurement of all goods and services required by the Company. In many cases the Buyer will be responsible for identifying suppliers, obtaining proposals, and implementing successful proposals. In other cases the Buyer will provide support to Senior Management during negotiations and implement the resulting agreement.

 

Salary: $55,000 - $75,000

  • Reviewing purchase requisitions to ensure the correct supplier, price, taxes and dates are in place.  Issuing subsequent purchase orders, receiving PO confirmations, following up with suppliers.  Expediting orders when required.  Ensuring supplier invoices are process in a timely manner
  • Regularly obtaining competitive quotes or proposals, identifying cost reduction opportunities and conducting market validations of current arrangements.  Assissting internal customer with purchasing inquiries
  • Developing relationships with key suppliers unique to the company or those who have been identified as suppliers at a corporate level.  This includes: documenting and maintaining current supply agreements through the use of standard supply contract, as well as establishing supply agreements.  In addition completing proposal evaluations considering the entire supply chain costs and optimizing all associated costs
  • Coordinate and adminster the asset disposition process
  • Inbound freight:  Track, trace and monitor inbound freight shipments for components as well as the administration of landed cost transactions
  • All employees have an obligation to report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate corrective measures
  • University Degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 Years in Purchasing/Supply Chain
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) would be preferred
