Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:

  • Perform ophthalmic diagnostic tests using specialized equipment, including OCT, visual field analysis, pachymetry, keratometry, A/B scan, fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA), topography and other ophthalmic investigations
  • Prepare examination and procedure rooms and ensure equipment is functional, available and well maintained
  • Assist ophthalmologists during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Ensure patient safety, infection prevention and compliance with JCIA and departmental quality standards
  • Provide patient support, maintain efficient clinic flow and address patient queries
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, equipment maintenance and departmental audits
  • Perform other departmental responsibilities as assigned.
   

Requirements

You should have:

  • Intermediate qualification; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Diploma/Degree in Ophthalmic Technology or equivalent Ophthalmic Technician training from a recognized institute
  • Valid BLS certification; intravenous cannulation certification (where applicable).
  • At least 1-2 years of ophthalmic technician experience.
  • Proficiency in ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and procedures.
  • Good communication, interpersonal and computer skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team with a strong commitment to patient safety and service excellence.
  • Willingness to work shifts and extended hours as needed.​​​​
