We’re looking for a Solutions Specialist to join the Green Data Products Solutions team to help design, implement, and maintain custom solutions for our customers.


You are a customer-focused domain expert in weather and energy forecasting, capable of building strong relationships and acting as a trusted advisor to customers. In this role, you will identify and respond to opportunities to extend the value of our Green Data Products, helping customers address complex challenges as they accelerate the Energy Transition.

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Collaborate with the sales team to deliver technical product demonstrations and presentations, identifying and advising potential customers whose requirements may benefit from custom solutions.

  • Work closely with customers to understand their needs and design, cost, and propose solutions that address those requirements.

  • Provide training and guidance to the sales team on technical and industry-related concepts.

  • Represent DNV at conferences and other industry or scientific events, including speaking engagements where appropriate.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers and prospects, helping them maximize the value of their solutions.

  • Support the Customer Success and Sales teams by troubleshooting technical issues, helping resolve customer challenges, and providing feedback to the Product Director and product team on potential product improvements.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for products and solutions, ensuring clarity, usability, and alignment with established best practices.

  • Stay up to date with product developments and industry trends, sharing relevant insights and recommendations with customers.

  • Monitor, test, and validate solutions to ensure they meet performance, reliability, and quality standards.

We are looking for someone who can: 

 

 

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of weather and energy forecasting products and the ability to translate customer needs into realistic technical requirements and solutions.

  • Build trusted customer relationships and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Identify opportunities for additional products and solutions through customer engagement and analysis of relevant sales and business data.

  • Collaborate effectively with data scientists, software engineers, and other stakeholders to design, develop, and deliver customer solutions, including coordinating project activities when required.

  • Work successfully across teams and functions, sharing knowledge, experience, and best practices.

  • Monitor solutions after implementation and identify opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance reliability, performance, and customer value.

  • Adapt to changing priorities and project requirements while maintaining a high standard of delivery.

  • Take initiative in troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges.

  • Demonstrate a continuous learning mindset and commitment to developing technical, industry, and communication skills.

  • Manage tasks effectively, delivering solutions within agreed timelines and budget expectations.

     

     

    Experience and Qualifications

     

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Meteorology, Physics, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in weather and energy forecasting, including solar forecasting; experience with wind forecasting is an advantage.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in scientific computing, with strong programming skills in Python or a similar language.
