Your Role
As a Construction Manager at Digital Realty, you will support the successful delivery of mission-critical data center & infrastructure (e.g. substation) construction projects across the full project lifecycle. From new builds and fit-outs to infrastructure upgrades and campus expansions, you will help ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants, and customers, you will coordinate project activities, manage risks, and contribute to the successful execution of construction projects across our growing portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the planning, coordination, and delivery of data center and corresponding infrastructure (like substations) construction projects from inception through completion.
- Develop and monitor project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and project controls.
- Oversee construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate contractors, consultants, subcontractors, and vendors to support project delivery objectives.
- Monitor project performance, identify risks, and support the implementation of mitigation plans.
- Review project documentation, change requests, payment applications, and invoices.
- Support cost management initiatives and identify opportunities for efficiency and value improvement.
- Provide regular project updates and reporting to key stakeholders.
- Maintain effective communication and governance processes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Champion a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to all health and safety requirements.
What You Bring
- 3+ years of experience in construction project management, ideally within data centers, mission-critical facilities, or complex infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience delivering construction projects safely, on time, and within budget.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project controls, contract administration, and risk management.
- Experience coordinating contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Electrical systems (HV / MV) and building services infrastructure.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or construction management
- Fluent English communication skills required
- German is nice to have
