Description:
- Conducts independent investigations supporting the protection of people, property, and information in an efficient, thorough, and professional manner.
- Coordinates the identification, development, and execution of investigative functions related primarily to Plant Spartanburg, Plant Woodruff, and BMW locations in South Carolina, with additional support for investigations related to BMW Americas Region, as required.
- Steers the implementation of core strategies and policies to meet the investigative needs of the company and serves as a key resource to security and site business management.
- Serves as a liaison with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, as well as external emergency organizations, in support of investigations and incident response at Plant Spartanburg, Plant Woodruff, and BMW locations in South Carolina.
- Investigate any incident believed to have current and future detrimental impact to the company. Identifies trends in fraud, inventory control losses, and non-compliance with asset protection policies/procedures and makes recommendations to protect company assets.
- Consults with investigations and security operations outside of assigned area.
- Conducts investigations regarding intellectual property, personal identifiable information, theft, fraud, threat management, cybercrimes, and other violations of law and policy as defined by the company and provide recommendations for resolution and improvement.
- Collaborates with internal business departments such as Legal, Human Resources, Risk Management, etc., as well as affiliated companies to lead and assist with investigations.
- Collaborates with external organizations such as applicable law enforcement agencies, insurance carriers, government regulatory agencies, industry counterparts, etc. to assist with investigations as necessary.
- Conducts professional investigative interviews of employees and others, often involving sensitive subjects.
- Collects evidence, conducts interviews, conducts surveillance, testifies in court, and works with appropriate local, state, and/or federal law enforcement agencies in order to determine prosecutorial merit of the investigation.
- Documents and maintains detailed reports and case files, thoroughly and accurately.
- Prepares executive summaries of each investigation in order to brief management on the findings.
- Collects, documents, and maintains the chain of custody for any evidence that is collected.
- Maintains an up to date in-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local statues as they relate to investigations, company policies, and security procedures.
- Conducts applicable investigative internet research. Reviews CCTV surveillance video for investigative leads and evidence.
- Supports the security and emergency services operations of Plant Spartanburg Security and Emergency Services.
- Ensures appropriate administration of the security programs designed to protect personnel, facilities, and information, particularly as this relates to crisis management, business continuity and emergency situations.
- Performs risk management assessments, and ensures compliance with local, state and federal guidelines regarding emergency and security measures.
- Proposes, develops and implements countermeasures for policy noncompliance.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
- Performs, coordinates, and manages Executive Protection and security concept development required for VIP visits and BMW events.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in Criminal Justice or related degree; OR AA/AS degree in Criminal Justice or related degree AND 2 years of professional law enforcement, investigations, and/or Corporate Security investigation experience or equivalent; OR High School diploma or equivalent AND 4 years of professional applicable experience such as law enforcement, investigations, and/or corporate security investigations.
- 6+ years of professional related experience in law enforcement investigations, and/or corporate security investigation experience.
- 3+ years supervisory experience and vendor management experience (preferred).
- ASIS CPI, PSP or CPP (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience with complex problem solving skills
- 5+ years of professional communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
- 5+ years of MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Access).
- 1+ years open source and social media search skills (preferred)
