This position is responsible for taking non-emergency calls via phone or in person for law enforcement assistance. Incumbents review requests, complete incident reports, and maintain daily records and files.
Essential Duties
- Receives non-emergency calls via the phone or in person for law enforcement assistance
- Compiles necessary information and completes incident report on all requests in compliance with Georgia law
- Assesses non-emergency calls, determines necessary action, and dispatches requests as necessary
- Maintains daily records and files of all service requests for tracking purposes
- Communicates with other departments as needed to request or provide information
- Testifies in Court
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level
- This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing.
- This job requires fingerprinting.
- This job is a civilian position in a public safety department with close ties to public safety. Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a public safety background is required which may include motor vehicle & criminal histories and fingerprinting.
- The grade for this position is B21(1). Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
- High School Diploma or GED, AND
- One year experience in a law enforcement environment
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
- Must obtain Basic Terminal Operator of GCIC/NCIC certification within one year.
- Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
