This role is best suited for engineers with hands-on automation, robotics, controls, or manufacturing equipment integration experience rather than engineers focused primarily on process improvement, industrial engineering, or production planning.
What you will be doing
- Lead manufacturing integration efforts for new equipment, robotic cells, tooling, and automation projects supporting production, quality, and customer requirements.
- Developing, evaluating, improving, and documenting manufacturing process with a focus on automation, robotic cell integration, and equipment performance.
- Developing and implementing process techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments.
- Analyzing manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput.
- Confer with suppliers in determining product specifications and arranging equipment, parts, or material purchase, and evaluating products according to quality standards and specifications.
- Estimating staffing requirements, production times, and relative cost to provide data for operational decisions.
- Working closely with manufacturing department to develop, coordinate, and implement technical training for employees.
- Provide hands-on engineering support to troubleshoot and resolve issues involving robotics, PLCs, controls systems, automated manufacturing equipment, and production processes.
- Support company policies and procedures, goals, and objectives.
- Design and approve tooling prior to a build.
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or an engineering related field. (required)
- 3-5 years of engineering or manufacturing experience. (required)
- Experience working with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLCs. (preferred)
- Experience with Robotic manfuacturing systems. (preferred)
- Experience integrating new fabrication cells, automation, and production equipment with existing manufacturing machinery. (preferred)
