Project Overview:Mining and Metals:
Increasing production of critical minerals provides key components of clean energy technologies, from wind turbines to batteries. This shift to clean energy—and the need for commodities—is critical to underpinning the energy transition. At Bechtel, our teams extract these vital resources to support net zero in a way which is more sustainable than ever before.
Job Summary:The Process CSU Engineer will support the planning, preparation and coordination of the pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up activities of the desalination plant and associated facilities, ensuring their successful delivery. The Process CSU Engineer will develop commissioning plans, programs, manuals, test procedures and associated documentation. You will interact and participate in meetings regularly with the Client and with other Bechtel offices, mainly those in Houston and New Delhi. Interaction and meetings with other Bechtel offices are conducted in English.
Major Responsibilities:- Promoting safety culture at all times during field activities.
- Interpreting and applying P&IDs, control narratives, and design documentation relevant to their activities.
- Identifying and participating in the resolution of process systems, mechanical, and SCADA/control problems.
- Supporting the CSU Process Leader with:
- Development of pre-commissioning, commissioning and commissioning strategies and procedures, including plans, programs, protocolization, and green tag and blue tag sequence aligned with the completeness of the construction and commissioning requirements.
- Coordination with Design engineering, project control, procurement, suppliers, construction teams, operations and Customer.
- Writing of daily progress reports and final documentation (handover dossiers).
- Requires degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 5 years of work experience.
- Experience in the design, commissioning and commissioning of water treatment plants will be valued.
- Experience in the design of water plants will be valued.
- Intermediate-advanced English level and proficiency in technical English. Proficiency in oral and written communication.
- Knowledge and experience in water treatment processes. Experience in desalination processes will be valued.
- Skills for reading and interpreting P&IDs, one-line diagrams, and control narratives. Familiar with tools applicable to field commissioning activities.
- Excellent skills to work in a methodical and analytical manner.
- Oriented to conflict resolution. Must demonstrate excellent technical and interpersonal communication skills, with ability to influence through dialogue, reasoning and argumentation.
- Must be able to produce a well-structured report in which various options are logically evaluated and a recommendation is presented.
- The CSU engineer will have a high commitment to safety and quality.
