SummarySaint Xavier University’s Center for Accessibility Resources (CAR) is committed to ensuring equal access for students with disabilities. This part-time position is open only to currently admitted Saint Xavier University graduate students and provides support in administering and proctoring exams for students who receive testing accommodations.This student employment opportunity supports the development of skills aligned with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Career Readiness Competencies. Through this role, students will strengthen the following competencies:
- Communication: Students build communication skills by practicing clear, respectful, and professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication in a workplace setting.
- Critical Thinking: Students build critical thinking skills by applying judgment, solving problems, prioritizing tasks, maintaining accuracy, and using feedback to improve their work.
Leadership: Students build leadership skills by taking initiative, demonstrating responsibility, supporting others, contributing ideas, and modeling positive workplace behaviors.
Professionalism: Students build professionalism by practicing dependability, accountability, confidentiality when applicable, workplace etiquette, and respectful service in a workplace setting.
- Administer and proctor faculty-issued exams for students with approved testing accommodations
- Provide support for less frequently approved accommodations, such as reading exam content aloud or serving as a scribe, as needed.
- Maintain exam security and confidentiality at all times and report any testing irregularities to CAR staff.
- Assist with basic record-keeping related to exam administration.
- Support the return of completed exams to faculty.
- Assist with additional tasks related to testing, accommodations, or general office support as directed by the CAR Coordinator.
Must be admitted to and enrolled in a Saint Xavier University graduate program.
Must be Federal Work Study Eligible

Experience and Skills
- Previous experience working with students in a special education, disability services, or
higher education setting is strongly preferred. - Experience supporting IEP or 504 Plan accommodations is a plus.
- Comfortable using everyday technology such as laptops, email, and shared documents.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) is helpful.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a calm and structured testing environment.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills when interacting with students and staff.
- Calm, patient, and professional demeanor with the ability to redirect or de-escalate situations when necessary.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
