About the Role:
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented CMF (Color, Material & Finish) Designer to support the development of innovative, production-ready CMF solutions across one or more vehicle programs. In this role, you will translate strategic design direction into compelling color, material, and finish concepts while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to bring premium automotive experiences to life. You will contribute throughout the product development lifecycle, from early concept phases through production launch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support CMF development for assigned vehicle programs from concept through production launch.

  • Create comprehensive CMF proposals, including color, material, and finish specifications, along with technical drawings for quilting and perforation patterns.

  • Translate CMF strategies into feasible, production-ready design solutions.

  • Collaborate closely with designers, engineers, digital modelers, visualization specialists, trim teams, and paint specialists.

  • Coordinate with suppliers to develop exterior paint systems, soft trim materials, and decorative components.

  • Design macro-level CMF themes as well as detailed elements such as textures, mesh patterns, quilting, and decorative finishes.

  • Produce high-quality visual presentations, renders, and storytelling materials to communicate design intent.

  • Support sustainability initiatives by exploring innovative materials and environmentally responsible CMF solutions.

  • Share knowledge within the design team and provide guidance to junior CMF designers when needed.

  • Present CMF concepts and proposals confidently to cross-functional teams and key stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, or a related discipline.

  • 2–5 years of professional experience in CMF design, preferably within the automotive industry.

  • Demonstrated experience delivering production-ready CMF programs.

  • Experience working in cross-functional and global development environments.

  • Proven ability to present design concepts to senior stakeholder.

    • Strong creative vision with excellent CMF storytelling and presentation abilities.

  • Ability to independently manage CMF activities for vehicle programs.

  • Solid understanding of materials, finishes, manufacturing processes, and production feasibility.

  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.

  • Experience creating high-quality renders using VRED or Blender.

  • Familiarity with Rhino and/or Blender is an advantage.

  • Knowledge of generative AI tools for design workflows is considered a plus.

  • Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills in fast-paced development environments.
