QS Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical QS Engineer to join our organization in Cairo, Egypt. In this role, you will be responsible for managing project costs, preparing comprehensive quantity surveys, and ensuring accurate financial control throughout the construction lifecycle. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced project environment.

• Prepare and analyze bills of quantities (BOQ) and cost estimates for construction projects
• Monitor and control project costs, identifying variances and implementing corrective measures
• Review construction contracts, specifications, and tender documents with meticulous attention to detail
• Manage procurement processes and evaluate supplier quotations to ensure cost-effectiveness
• Prepare detailed cost reports and financial forecasts for project stakeholders
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve cost-related issues
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation and maintain organized records of all financial transactions
• Conduct risk assessments related to project costs and budget implications
• Ensure compliance with Egyptian construction standards and local regulatory requirements
• Utilize QS software and tools to analyze data, generate reports, and streamline cost management processes
• Participate in tender evaluations and provide cost analysis recommendations

Qualifications

• +10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor or QS Engineer in construction or engineering projects
• Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles, cost estimation, and budgeting methodologies
• Proficiency in QS software such as Bluebeam, Primavera, AutoCAD, or similar tools
• Comprehensive understanding of construction contracts and procurement processes
• Familiarity with Egyptian construction standards and building regulations
• Preferred: Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and 3D cost estimation
• Preferred: Knowledge of tender processes and bid evaluation procedures
• Preferred: Experience in risk assessment and contingency planning for construction projects
