Purpose

The Leadership Development Lead is responsible for leading the design, implementation, embedding and continuous improvement of leadership development across the Health Assessment Advisory Services (HAAS) within Ingeus.

The postholder will act as the internal lead for the iLEAD leadership development programme, ensuring the programme is successfully embedded across HAAS and aligned to the wider Learning & Development Strategy, operational priorities, colleague engagement, retention and future workforce capability.

A core focus of the role is to build consistent, scalable and measurable leadership capability across HAAS. The postholder will work closely with the L&D Strategy & Capability Manager, senior leaders, operational managers, People & Culture, L&D Delivery, external providers and colleagues across Transformation to ensure leadership development supports improved manager effectiveness, colleague experience, performance, confidence and internal progression.

The role will also support the long-term sustainability of leadership development by embedding leadership frameworks, coaching approaches, toolkits, learning resources, manager guidance, evaluation methods and internal delivery capability.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the HAAS leadership development framework.
  • Act as the internal programme lead for iLEAD, ensuring effective planning, delivery, embedding, evaluation and continuous improvement.
  • Work with external training providers and internal stakeholders to ensure leadership development materials, toolkits, webinars, coaching sessions and governance processes are transferred, embedded and sustained internally.
  • Translate business priorities, workforce challenges and operational insight into practical leadership development interventions.
  • Demonstrate authentic leadership practice and act as a role model for effective leadership behaviours, coaching approaches and people development across HAAS.
  • Design and oversee leadership development pathways for aspiring leaders, new managers, first-line leaders and established leaders.
  • Work with senior leaders and People & Culture to identify leadership capability gaps and development priorities.
  • Ensure leadership development supports improved colleague engagement, retention, manager capability, productivity, confidence and quality.
  • Lead the development of a consistent HAAS coaching framework in partnership with the Coaching & Leadership Development Specialist.
  • Embed coaching into leadership development, PDRs, PDPs, career conversations, performance conversations and manager development activity.
  • Design and facilitate leadership development workshops, webinars, action learning sets, reflective practice sessions and blended learning interventions.
  • Work with Content, Digital Learning and L&D colleagues to ensure leadership development resources are accessible, engaging and effectively hosted on our LMS iLearn.
  • Establish clear governance, quality assurance and evaluation processes for leadership development activity.
  • Develop reporting and insight to demonstrate the impact of leadership development on confidence, behaviour change, learning transfer and business outcomes.
  • Support the development of leadership capability data, dashboards and reporting to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders, operational leaders, Clinical Excellence, People & Culture, Transformation and L&D Delivery.
  • Ensure leadership development activity is aligned to the HAAS Learning & Development Strategy, capability frameworks, career pathways and future workforce needs.
  • Support succession planning and internal talent development by creating clear leadership development routes.
  • Collaborate with L&D Delivery to ensure leadership development complements, but does not duplicate, operational training delivery.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of leadership development, coaching, organisational development, adult learning and talent development practice.
  • Maintain a personal development plan and engage in ongoing CPD relevant to leadership development, coaching, OD and L&D.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience in learning and development, leadership development, organisational development, talent development or management development.
  • Experience designing, delivering or managing leadership development programmes.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, leadership capability, behaviour change and blended learning approaches.
  • Experience facilitating leadership workshops, action learning sets, webinars, reflective practice or group development sessions.
  • CIPD Level 5 Advanced Diploma (or equivalent Level 5 qualification) in Learning & Development, Organisational Development, Leadership Development, Coaching or HR.
  • ILM Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification or equivalent.
  • Ability to translate business challenges into practical development solutions.
  • Experience working with senior leaders, operational managers and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills.
  • Experience using feedback, data or insight to shape development activity and evaluate impact.
  • Ability to develop frameworks, toolkits, learning resources and programme documentation.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, professional and accessible materials.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work strategically while remaining connected to operational reality.
  • Coaching mindset and commitment to inclusive, accessible and learner-centred development.
  • Flexible, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a dispersed team.
  • Evidence of relevant CPD in leadership development, coaching, L&D, HR or organisational development.
  • General IT skills and ability to use software effectively.
  • Driven and flexible.

Desirable Experience

  • Practical experience of leading people, teams, projects or organisational initiatives, with the ability to draw upon personal leadership experience when designing, facilitating and embedding leadership development interventions.
  • Experience leading or embedding a formal leadership framework, leadership academy or leadership pathway.
  • Experience working with external providers to design, deliver or embed leadership development programmes.
  • Experience of coaching, mentoring, talent development, succession planning or career pathways.
  • Experience working in a healthcare, public service, regulated or contract-led environment.
  • Experience using an LMS or digital learning platform to support leadership development.
  • Experience working with People & Culture, HR or organisational development teams.
  • CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma (or equivalent Level 7 qualification) in Learning & Development, Organisational Development, Leadership Development, Coaching or HR.
  • ILM Level 7 Leadership and Management qualification or equivalent.
