Job Purpose

The Junior Engineer supports the engineering team in the planning, design, execution, review, and coordination of engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle. Working under the guidance of senior engineers and discipline leads, the role ensures engineering deliverables comply with project specifications, international standards, client requirements, and applicable HSE regulations while contributing to the successful execution of Oil & Gas and Petrochemical projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation, review, and coordination of engineering deliverables within the respective discipline.
  • Support engineering studies, calculations, technical evaluations, and design reviews.
  • Ensure engineering work complies with project specifications, company procedures, applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure effective integration of engineering deliverables.
  • Participate in technical meetings, design reviews, HAZOP/HAZID, constructability, and interdisciplinary coordination meetings as required.
  • Review vendor documents and assist in the technical evaluation of supplier proposals.
  • Support procurement, construction, commissioning, and project execution teams by providing timely engineering clarification.
  • Assist in resolving technical queries and responding to Requests for Information and site engineering issues.
  • Participate in site visits, inspections, and field engineering activities when required.
  • Prepare engineering reports, technical documentation, progress updates, and project records.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), quality management systems, and project procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to achieving project objectives related to safety, quality, cost, and schedule.

Qualifications

  • UAE National.
  • Bachelor's Degree in the relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent from an accredited university.

Experience

  • Minimum three (3+) years of relevant engineering experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry.
  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience within the GCC region.
  • Experience in engineering consultancy, PMC, EPC, FEED, detailed engineering, or project execution is preferred.

Technical Competencies

  • Basic knowledge of engineering principles, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with international codes and standards applicable to the relevant engineering discipline.
  • Understanding of engineering documentation, specifications, drawings, and technical reports.
  • Working knowledge of engineering software applicable to the discipline is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Experience 

  • Experience on ADNOC or other major GCC Oil & Gas projects is preferred.
  • Exposure to FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC, PMC, Brownfield, or Greenfield projects is desirable.
