Anchor Packaging, a Georgia-Pacific company, is now hiring for a Quality Engineer position based in Jonesboro, AR!  

The success candidate will be responsible for supporting operations by focusing on process improvements, quality testing, enhancing quality, and ensuring operational efficiency. The role may involve leading or participating in projects aimed at cost reduction and improving product quality. The position supports Georgia-Pacific's commitment to continuous improvement and evolving customer needs.

What You Will Do

  • Certification & Compliance: Maintain the quality program, ensuring compliance with applicable certifications and regulatory requirements
  • Customer Complaint Resolution: Investigate and resolve customer complaints; manage corrective actions promptly
  • Documentation & Validation: Review technical files, master records, validation plans, and design releases for accuracy and completeness
  • Process Monitoring: Conduct regular monitoring and performance evaluations of thermoforming and extrusion plastics processes
  • Conformance Management: Assess non-conforming products, approve shipment holds, and oversee ECOs
  • Process Improvements: Develop and refine work instructions, procedures, and work standards to boost efficiency and product quality
  • Data Analysis: Compile and analyze test results to diagnose malfunctions, identify trends, and recommend corrective measures


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience working in quality specific position in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment 
  • Experience interpreting data, identifying trends and patterns, presenting scientific information and compiling data in various analytical formats
  • Experience leading an initiative within the operation and working through others to accomplish goals
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Prior experience working in a shape molding, thermoforming or extrusion facility
  • Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis techniques and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA)
  • Experience working with Safe Quality Food (SQF)
