The Pulmonary Function Respiratory Therapist role within the Cleveland Medical Center offers a unique chance to become part of a dynamic, collaborative interdisciplinary team. This position adds value to patient care and significantly assists individuals with breathing issues.

We currently offer an opportunity for a full time days, Pulmonary Function Respiratory Therapist to support adult patients in our Level 1 trauma center in Cleveland.

A Brief Overview

The therapist is learning and incorporating the mission statement and standards of behavior of his/her hospital or care facility. This therapist performs basic competencies within orientation and provides satisfactory respiratory therapy with minimum supervision.

 

What You Will Do

  • Mechanical ventilation
  • Medicated aerosol delivery
  • Airway clearance therapy
  • Patient monitoring
  • Oxygen and humidity therapy
  • Special procedures (CPR, specialty gases, bronchoscopy, transport, etc.)

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
 Qualifications 

Education

  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory (Required) or
  • Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory (Required)

 

Work Experience

  • 1+ years Respiratory Therapy (Preferred)

 

Licenses and Certifications

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) (Required) 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required) 
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (Preferred) 
  • Current RCP Ohio License granted by the Ohio Medical Board (Required) 
  • AARC membership within 6 months of hire date (Required) 
  • NRP Certified (Neonatal facilities) (Required within 6 Months)

 

Position Details/Preferred Qualifications

At least one year of recent, previous work in pulmonary function is strongly preferred. This position is (4) 10-hour shifts per week, Monday-Friday.
