Master the Supply Chain. Day & Zimmermann Munitions Group is seeking a Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist to play a key role in ensuring our manufacturing operations have the suppliers, materials, and partnerships needed to deliver high-quality products to those who serve. In this highly collaborative role, you'll develop and execute sourcing strategies, negotiate supplier agreements, drive cost savings, mitigate supply chain risks, and work alongside engineering, operations, quality, and program management teams to support complex defense manufacturing initiatives. As the Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist, DZMG here’s the impactful work you’ll do:- Develops and executes long-term strategic sourcing agreements via successful negotiations for key commodities and materials in conjunction with the business to support production deadlines; Implements strategies to leverage overall Munitions' spend; Identifies and implements make-versus-buy analyses; Leads development of sourcing strategies for critical components such as machined parts, energetics, or specialty materials; Analyzes supplier cost structures and market trends.
- Leads and manages supplier relationships via identifying, qualifying, developing and maintaining new suppliers relationships to support business growth and supply chain resilience; Facilitates supplier meetings and visits to client facilities as required; Identifies and implements cost reduction opportunities and areas where cost savings may enhance operating efficiencies; Manages and engages suppliers for auditing purposes to ensure specification and quality requirements are in compliance with prime contracts.
- Drives cross functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and program management to ensure supply chain alignment with product and program requirements; Participates in design reviews to ensure manufacturability and supplier capability.
- Identifies areas of risk, develops and implements mitigation plans to address; Determines areas where cost savings may be achieved while enhancing operating efficiencies.
- Ability to prioritize workload to support internal/external customer requirements, utilizes resources to accomplish tasks efficiently and to support production schedules in a matrixed organization.
- Knowledge of FAR, DFAR and applicable government regulations including legal contracting principals.
- Strong sourcing, negotiating, organizational, verbal & written communication skills to include decision-making, change management, conflict management, and strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and SAP/ERP Systems.
- Experience in government contracting, munitions' industry and manufacturing environments.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field operations or equivalent experience Required
- 7+ years Required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Secret Clearance may be required.
- Must possess a valid REAL ID-compliant drivers license, which includes the gold or black star in the upper corner OR current passport, indicating it is federally compliant.
- Successful completion of background screening process.

In compliance with this states pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $90,640 - $135,960. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
