About this Program

Community Living Support (CLS) is a NSW Government-funded initiative providing individually tailored, person-led psychosocial support to people aged 16 years and over who experience severe mental health challenges.

Working within a recovery-oriented framework, CLS supports people to build skills, strengthen social connections and achieve their personal goals through practical, flexible and community-based support.

About the Opportunity

As a Recovery Worker, you will walk alongside participants as they identify their strengths, aspirations and goals. You will provide practical, hands-on support that assists people to build confidence, develop self-management skills and connect with their communities.

Working as part of an integrated team, you will help ensure participants receive consistent, high-quality support while maintaining accurate records and documentation that contribute to positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support participants to develop and work towards their recovery goals and aspirations.
  • Provide practical, strengths-based support that promotes independence and wellbeing.
  • Foster connections with families, communities and natural support networks.
  • Complete recovery plans, assessments, file notes and program documentation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external stakeholders to deliver coordinated support.
  • Travel across the region to meet participant needs

About You

You will be passionate about supporting people experiencing mental health challenges and committed to person-led, recovery-focused practice.

Provide practical, strengths-based support tailored to individual goals and needs and facilitate programs and promote hope, recovery and self-determination. You will work collaboratively with participants, families, communities and partner services.

You will need:

  • Completion of the Certificate 4 in Mental Health, Certificate 4 in Mental Health, Peer Work or Certificate 4 in Community Services, or be enrolled in and actively working toward completing one of these qualifications
  • 100 points of identification
  • Evidence of right to work in Australia
  • Drivers Licence
  • National Police Check
  • International Police (if required)
  • Working with Children Check - Blue Card
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • NDIS Workers Orientation Modules – free online course
