As part of Moderna's growing Trade Operations & Compliance organisation, you'll play a pivotal role in enabling compliant global trade across the EMEA region. Operating at the intersection of operational excellence, regulatory compliance and digital innovation, you'll ensure import and export activities are executed efficiently while helping shape the future of Trade Compliance through automation, analytics and AI-enabled technologies.
Working as a trusted regional partner across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Logistics, Procurement, Regulatory, Quality, Finance, Tax, Legal and Digital, you'll help build scalable, audit-ready trade operations that support business growth while continuously improving compliance performance.
Here's What You'll Do:
Lead day-to-day Trade Operations & Compliance activities across the EMEA region, ensuring compliant and efficient import and export operations.
Serve as the regional subject matter expert for customs compliance, tariff classification, customs valuation, origin, export controls, licences and special customs procedures.
Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Logistics, Procurement, Regulatory, Quality, Finance, Tax, Legal and Digital teams to embed Trade Compliance into operational processes.
Build trusted partnerships across the business, ensuring Trade Compliance enables operational agility while maintaining robust governance.
Lead customs broker governance, regulatory interactions and compliance reviews to deliver consistent execution across the EMEA region.
Drive continuous improvement by simplifying, standardising and automating Trade Compliance processes.
Support the implementation and optimisation of digital Trade Compliance solutions, including SAP, workflow automation, analytics platforms and AI-enabled compliance tools.
Champion data governance and data quality initiatives that strengthen compliance reporting, operational visibility and informed decision-making.
Monitor changes in customs and trade regulations, evaluate business impacts and implement compliant operational solutions across the region.
Lead customs audits, corrective action planning, broker performance management and ongoing compliance monitoring activities.
Develop regional dashboards, KPIs and reporting that identify trends, proactively mitigate risks and improve operational performance.
Contribute to regional and global Trade Compliance initiatives, bringing operational expertise while identifying opportunities to leverage emerging technologies including artificial intelligence and predictive analytics to enhance compliance monitoring, automate routine activities, improve decision-making and proactively identify trade risks.
Help modernise Trade Compliance by advancing digital transformation, process standardisation and technology adoption across EMEA.
Operate as an individual contributor with significant regional ownership, influencing stakeholders and driving operational excellence across multiple business functions.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 8 years' experience, including at least 4 years in trade compliance, customs, legal, auditing or investigations within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device or other highly regulated life sciences industry.
Strong operational expertise in EMEA import and export compliance, including customs valuation, tariff classification, origin, export controls, special customs procedures, bonded warehouses, customs brokers, 3PL management and audit readiness.
Proven experience partnering across multiple EMEA countries, working with regional business functions, customs authorities and external service providers to deliver compliant and efficient trade operations.
Experience with SAP (SAP GTS, SAP S/4HANA or SAP Fiori), together with digital reporting, automation and AI-enabled compliance solutions to strengthen operational excellence and support the future of Trade Compliance.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess regulatory risk, prioritise business needs and deliver practical compliance solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across regional and global teams while respecting different cultures and regulatory environments.
A proactive, customer-focused and accountable mindset, demonstrating integrity, sound judgement, continuous learning and a passion for improving Trade Compliance through innovation, digitalisation and operational excellence.
Knowledge of GDPR and experience working within a multinational organisation.
Excellent organisational and project management skills, with fluent written and spoken English.
