Position Overview:
The Commercial Diver will perform underwater welding, cutting, inspections, and NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) on marine structures (pipelines, jetties, offshore platforms, etc.) for an EPC project in Qatar. The role requires compliance with IMCA (International Marine Contractors Association) or ADCI (Association of Diving Contractors International) standards and strict adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
â Underwater Operations
· Perform wet welding (AWS D3.6M standards), hyperbaric welding, and cutting on submerged structures.
· Conduct underwater NDT inspections (UT, MPI, DPI, visual surveys) .
· Assist in repair, maintenance, and installation of subsea pipelines, jackets, and mooring systems.
â Safety & Compliance
· Follow dive plans, decompression tables, and emergency procedures .
· Use surface-supplied air (SSA), mixed gas, or saturation diving systems as required.
· Adhere to Qatar Ministry of Labour, QHSE, and IMCA/ADCI regulations .
â Equipment & Teamwork
· Operate diving helmets, umbilicals, welding machines, and NDT equipment .
· Work closely with Diving Supervisors, NDT inspectors, and ROV operators .
· Maintain dive logs, inspection reports, and defect records .
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
· Certification:
o IMCA/ADCI Commercial Diver Certification (Air/Mixed Gas/Saturation).
o Underwater Welding Certified (AWS D3.6M Class A/B or equivalent) .
o NDT Certification (ASNT Level II UT/MPI/DPI preferred) .
· Experience:
o 5+ years in underwater welding/NDT (oil & gas, marine construction).
o Middle East/GCC experience (advantage but not mandatory).
Medical Fitness: Valid IMCA/ADCI diving medical certificate (e.g., DMAC, UKOOA
