Job Title: Derrick Foreman – Offshore Jackup Rig
Location: Offshore Qatar (North Field Expansion, Contracted Rigs) Employment Type: Rotational (42 on /21 off) Reporting To: Driller / Rig Superintendent
Core Responsibilities
1. Derrick Operations Leadership
· Supervise all derrick operations during drilling, casing, and tripping
· Direct floormen and roughnecks in pipe handling and racking
· Monitor load weights and derrick structural integrity
2. Drilling Support
· Oversee BHA makeup/breakout in derrick
· Manage mud mixing/transfer operations
· Ensure proper stabbing board procedures
3. Safety & Compliance
· Enforce Qatar Energy (QP) DROPS program (Dropped Object Prevention)
· Conduct daily derrick inspections (cables, sheaves, safety equipment)
· Implement emergency evacuation plans for derrick crew
4. Equipment Maintenance
· Supervise lubrication and minor repairs of derrick equipment
· Coordinate with mechanical crew for major repairs
Requirements
Qualifications & Certifications
Mandatory:
· 5+ years offshore experience (3+ as Derrickman/Foreman)
· IWCF Level 2 Well Control Certification
· BOSIET/FOET with HUET (Offshore Survival & HUET)
· QP Medical Certificate
Preferred:
· Rigging/Slinging Certification
· Arabic language skills (advantage for Qatari crews)
