Financial Manager

As the Financial Manager, you will work closely with the executive team, gain broad exposure to the business and be accountable for the accounting function for the group and some key financial processes in servicing customers.The individual will report directly to the Commercial Director and will work closely with other members of the senior management team.
Responsibilities;
Manage the accounting function
- Direct and lead the Finance Department team
- Ensure IFRS compliance
- Responsible for monthly reporting, Annual Financial Statements of several companies and the audit engagement
- Experience with, or possess a sound conceptual understanding of, the principles inherent in a financing business e.g. expected credit loss modelling, impairment, classification
- VAT & income tax returns & SARS queries
- Auditor engagements
- Insurance matters
- Budgets
- Disbursements
- Collections
- Reconciliations
- Stakeholder reporting
- Asset & liability management
- Forecasting
- Other projects that interface with finance
- Timeous & accurate delivery
- Alert Management to exceptions
- Cash flow management & forecasts
- Compile reports and present to Exco and Board
- Ad hoc projects and tasks
Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years' experience for non-CA(SA) candidates preferably with exposure to mid-sized companies including reporting to external stakeholders
- Minimum of 10 years’ working experience for CA(SA) candidates preferably with exposure to mid-sized companies including reporting to external stakeholders
- Leadership experience in a financial role
- Working knowledge of IFRS
- Project management
- General Microsoft office tools
- Excel – Advanced
- Exposure to ERP systems & Xero/Sage/QuickBooks
- Flexibility to adapt with business changes
- Analytical mind, organised, precise and meticulous
