About the opportunity
Are you motivated by getting behind the wheel of one of our iconic blue trucks to deliver for customers? As our Heavy Vehicle Truck Driver, you’ll be the face of our trusted business, at the heart of your community and connecting businesses with their customers, and communities with each other day-in, day-out. You might not be working from home, but you’ll be on the road as a staple of your community, and it doesn’t get better than that!
This role works in a permanent part time capacity from 2pm - 6pm Monday to Friday and predominantly supports afternoon pickups. You will be in an MR truck and receive pick up requests through your scanner, collect the freight and return to the depot. The hourly rate is $33.33/ph plus 12% super and OT rates. The base rate and super will be increasing in September.

You’ll be
- Completing your own daily vehicle safety check.
- Performing an outstanding customer experience on behalf of Australia Post Group.
- Driving our modern trucks between our customers and StarTrack Wingfield.
- Returning to our operational centres to unload pick-ups.
About you
- You’re a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable personality who loves autonomy just as much as interacting with others and being a team player.
- You’re passionate about making a difference in the community.
You’ll also need to
- Hold a MR unrestricted vehicle licence.
- Be fit enough to load and unload freight items of all different shapes, sizes and weights, frequently in and out of a truck up to 30kg.
- Be safety-focused and understand the importance of chain of responsibility.
- Have a customer-centric mindset and effective communication skills.
- You will need to meet our safe working load limit of weighing 130kgs or less.
- Be prepared to undergo a driving assessment, pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening and nationally coordinated criminal history checks.
