Being in a business support role at Australia Post means helping our people deliver for every Australian. Just like our Posties, you’re still the people behind every parcel. Whatever your team or role, you’re helping grow our people, grow our business and making a lasting impact on the Australian community. You’ll find a culture of connection in our great people and the flexibility to balance work with life outside of it.
About the opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to enable Australia Post’s enterprise talent strategy at a pivotal time, helping ensure the organisation has the leadership capability, succession strength and future workforce skills needed to deliver its Post30 strategy. As a senior leader within People & Culture, you'll partner with senior stakeholders, provide the frameworks, insights and governance that support enterprise-wide talent processes, and drive programs that build leadership pipelines and organisational capability for the future.
You’ll also
- Lead enterprise-wide talent and succession planning, ensuring strong leadership pipelines across critical business areas.
- Design and oversee talent assessment frameworks that support objective, data-driven talent decisions.
- Identify critical roles and implement talent risk mitigation strategies to strengthen organisational resilience.
- Drive leadership and key talent development programs, accelerating readiness for future leadership opportunities.
- Build future talent pipelines through strategic partnerships with universities, TAFEs and external providers, while leading Australia Post's early careers strategy.
- Lead the development and coordination of all Exec-level talent days and cyclical talent processes, providing the structure, insights and follow-through that support effective talent conversations.
About you
You are a strategic and collaborative talent leader who thrives in complex environments and is passionate about building future workforce capability. With a strong enterprise mindset, you excel at influencing senior stakeholders, driving alignment across diverse business groups and translating business strategy into practical talent, succession and leadership initiatives. You bring a data-informed, forward-thinking approach and are committed to creating sustainable leadership pipelines that support Australia Post's Post30 strategy and evolving workforce needs.
You’ll also
- Extensive experience leading enterprise talent, succession planning, leadership development and workforce capability strategies within large, complex organisations.
- Proven success designing and delivering enterprise-wide talent programs, critical role frameworks and evidence-based talent assessment methodologies.
- Demonstrated capability in building leadership pipelines, early careers programs and workforce transformation initiatives aligned to long-term business objectives.
- Expertise in talent assessment, organisational capability diagnostics, succession frameworks and data-driven workforce decision making.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to partner effectively across People & Culture teams, senior leaders and external providers to deliver enterprise-wide outcomes.
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, Organisational Development or a related discipline, with relevant professional membership (such as AHRI) highly regarded.
What else is in it for you?
- Bring your whole self to work every day and be met by a welcoming bunch of people who respect and support you
- Flexible and hybrid working arrangements, like the opportunity to work from home two days per week
- Opportunities for growth and development through formal programs or mentorship
- Exclusive team member discounts and offers for more cash in your pocket, evolving policies for flexible working, leave types and access to health and wellbeing resources
- We’re open to part-time or job share arrangements for this role.
All walks, one route
It takes a lot of us to deliver for every Australian – and it’s important to us that our people behind the parcels reflect the people receiving them. We come from all walks. Different backgrounds, different ages, different genders, different sexualities and different abilities, but we all believe in the same purpose.
We welcome people all ages, genders and backgrounds – including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, LGBTQIA+ communities, and refugees. We’re a Disability Confident Recruiter, committed to making our hiring process and workplace inclusive and barrier-free. We’re also working hard to remove bias and build a gender-equitable experience for everyone who joins us.
