As part of our Fuels & Energy East business, you'll join a highly experienced engineering team supporting some of Australia's most critical fuel storage and terminal infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced E&IC Designer to contribute to the design and delivery of engineering solutions across operational fuel terminals, hazardous area facilities, and brownfield asset improvement projects.

Based in Melbourne, this role offers exposure to detailed design, drafting, site engagement, multidisciplinary collaboration, and the delivery of engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of fuel and energy assets.

About the Role

Reporting to the E&IC Lead Engineer, the E&IC Designer will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical and instrumentation design and drafting services that support project delivery and operational performance across fuel terminal and energy infrastructure projects.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver electrical and instrumentation design and drafting solutions for fuel terminal and energy infrastructure projects.
  • Produce and maintain high-quality 2D and 3D drawings, layouts and technical documentation.
  • Support brownfield upgrades and modifications, including electrical, instrumentation, PLC and SCADA systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project teams and stakeholders to deliver safe, compliant and fit-for-purpose designs.
  • Ensure all design deliverables comply with relevant standards, codes and project requirements.

About You

We are seeking an experienced designer who enjoys working in complex operational environments and delivering practical engineering solutions.

You will bring:

  • Relevant qualification in Electrical, Instrumentation or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience in E&I design and drafting within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Fuel Terminals or Heavy Industrial environments.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Experience working on brownfield projects and hazardous area facilities.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Exposure to Navisworks, SPI, SPEL, CADWorx, PDS or MicroStation will be highly regarded.
