Your Job

As a Project Management Engineer, you will provide cross-functional leadership to bridge project management, execution, control, and monitoring between the Plant and Development teams. You will support Business Unit objectives by enabling year-over-year growth through new product development and ensuring a smooth transition from product conceptualization to production.


Our Team

You will be part of the CCS division in Molex Malaysia and collaborate closely with Global Product Managers, Global Design Lab teams, Manufacturing Plants, and customers worldwide. This role serves as a key link between product management, development, and manufacturing teams to successfully commercialize new products and deliver innovative solutions that meet customer needs.


What You Will Do

  • Lead and facilitate cross-functional teams in new product development, product modifications, and selected capacity expansion projects.
  • Monitor overall project schedules, define critical paths, and ensure team members meet agreed timelines and deliverables.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, and cost changes while conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation plans.
  • Respond to RFQ, DMF, and GCA requests within established timeline goals.
  • Own project reporting and drive effective communication with management and customers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead and mentor team members on project management principles and Product Development Process (PDP) methodologies.
  • Demonstrate initiative, ownership, and a sense of urgency in a fast-paced product development environment.
  • Serve as the primary bridge between Global Product Management, Development, and Manufacturing teams to ensure successful project execution and commercialization.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships through consistent communication and collaboration across functions and regions.
  • Take accountability for plant-level project and portfolio management activities.• Support project and portfolio commercialization efforts by improving and accelerating project realization through PDP execution.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in a project management or engineering role with knowledge of scope, schedule, cost, and risk management.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work, manage multiple tasks, and drive projects to completion.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey ideas and information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with experience working across all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to interpret specifications and project plans to organize, estimate, and schedule project activities effectively.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, continuous improvement mindset, strong work ethic, and attention to detail.


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) knowledge or certification.
  • Experience supporting new product development projects from concept through production launch.
  • Manufacturing knowledge or exposure in areas such as stamping, molding, automation, or related manufacturing processes.
  • Experience using Office 365, Microsoft Project, data analytics tools, and enterprise systems such as Teamcenter or Polarion.
  • Knowledge of or experience working within IATF 16949 quality management systems.
