Location:  DVB - Dearne Valley Boxed

Shift Pattern: 12 hours - Days, nights and some weekends

 

 

The role:

 

Working in our fast paced, Dearne Valley Boxed warehouse with the leading technologies in warehousing and logistics, our Maintenance Assistants will work alongside a team of apprentice trained engineers, maintaining state of the art systems to ensure a smooth flow through the Warehouse.  The position is a 42 hour average working 12 hour day and night shifts (including weekends). 

 

As a Maintenance Assistant at NEXT, you will play a key part in keeping our fast-paced warehouse running smoothly. Working alongside a skilled team of apprentice-trained engineers, you’ll help maintain our state-of-the-art warehousing and logistics systems to ensure our stock flows without a hitch. 

 

You will make a real difference by preventing disruptions and keeping our site safe, efficient and productive. From day one, we will provide you with the full training, protective equipment and ongoing support you need to confidently handle our industry-leading technologies and get off to a flying start.

 

 

 What you'll take on:

:

  • Clear mechanical blockages and conveyor jams quickly and safely to keep the warehouse moving.

 

  • Clean and look after all automated equipment following our approved methods.

 

  • Carry out routine maintenance checks on ancillary equipment and closely monitor how the system is performing.

 

  • Work hand-in-hand with Maintenance Engineers and Site Maintenance Managers to tackle repairs and fix unexpected breakdowns.

 

  • Fill out everyday maintenance paperwork accurately and hand it over to the Site Maintenance Engineer.

 

  • Follow all health and safety guidelines at all times, making full use of the correct PPE provided for every task.

 

 

 What you'll bring:

 

  • A natural ability to organise your day, take ownership of tasks and focus on what needs doing first in a busy environment.

 

  • A true team-player attitude, with a flexible approach to working an average 42-hour week across 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, making it easy for you to work well with colleagues at all levels and follow operational instructions carefully.

 

  • Comfortable using computers and ready to learn new technical processes.

Great problem-solving skills and a practical approach to troubleshooting.

 

  • Previous experience in an automated warehouse environment is a great bonus, though not essential.
