As a Valuation Control professional within our Finance organization, you will spend each day supporting independent valuation and control activities aligned to specific business lines, while partnering with key stakeholders to maintain a strong control environment. You will be responsible for engaging with senior management, business heads, regulators, and internal and external audit to provide transparent oversight, credible reporting, and well-evidenced controls.

Our Valuation Control teams are responsible for a wide range of activities across Commercial & Investment Banking (Macro Products, Credit, Equities, Securitized Products, IB Risk), CIO, Treasury & Corporate (CTC), Asset Management, Consumer & Community Banking (CCB), and Commercial Banking (CB).

 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Perform monthly and daily price testing, valuation adjustments, and prudent valuation activities for the Equity business.
  • Execute price verification and benchmarking processes, including calculating fair value adjustments (FVAs).
  • Support Valuation Control Group (VCG) practices and control initiatives, including management reporting, regulatory deliverables, and adherence to VCG standards.
  • Partner with Business, Risk, Finance, and other functional groups to resolve valuation issues and implement measures that support fair value outcomes.
  • Enhance the control framework by reviewing independent pricing processes, assessing coverage expansion opportunities, and implementing tools to improve control efficiency.
  • Deliver value-added projects supporting Business, Risk, and Finance initiatives.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Ability to understand complex products and analyze transaction and process flows
  • Understanding of valuation concepts for financial products and derivatives; basic accounting knowledge
  • Strong analytical and quantitative aptitude (quantitative backgrounds helpful)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Undergraduate degree; Finance/Economics major helpful
  • Graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar
  • Prior experience in the financial industry
  • Experience with Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Visual Basic, automation, and/or database skills
