Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Health & Safety Engineer to join our organization in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this senior-level position, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive health and safety programs that protect our workforce and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations. You will play a critical role in fostering a strong safety culture while driving continuous improvement across all operational areas.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and programs aligned with Saudi Arabia's labor regulations, OSHA standards, and ISO 45001 requirements
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and hazard analyses across all work areas, identifying potential dangers and recommending mitigation strategies
  • Design and deliver safety training programs to employees at all levels, ensuring understanding of safety protocols and best practices
  • Investigate workplace incidents and near-misses, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Manage safety audits and compliance inspections, documenting findings and developing action plans to address non-conformances
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of safety documentation, including safety data sheets, standard operating procedures, and emergency response plans
  • Collaborate with department heads and operational teams to integrate safety considerations into all business processes and projects
  • Monitor and analyze safety metrics and key performance indicators, preparing reports for senior management and recommending program enhancements
  • Stay current with evolving health and safety regulations and industry best practices, ensuring organizational compliance
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and safety consultants, as needed

Qualifications

**Required Qualifications:**

  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience in health and safety engineering or a related field
  • Comprehensive knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, including Saudi Arabia's labor laws, OSHA standards, and ISO 45001
  • Demonstrated expertise in risk assessment methodologies, hazard analysis, and safety program development
  • Proven experience conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective and preventive actions
  • Strong proficiency with health and safety management systems and related software platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to train and educate diverse audiences
  • Solid project management capabilities and organizational skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret safety data and develop evidence-based recommendations
  • Professional demeanor and commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or NEBOSH qualification
  • Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, or construction environments
  • Familiarity with Saudi Arabia's specific occupational health and safety regulatory framework
  • Experience conducting safety audits and compliance inspections
  • Proficiency in data analysis and safety reporting tools
  • Experience developing and delivering safety training programs
  • Knowledge of ergonomics, personal protective equipment (PPE), and workplace hazard controls
