Job Description

The Assistant Director of Revenue and Reservations supports the Director of Revenue Management (DRM) in executing the hotel's Commercial Strategy and provides direct oversight to the Reservations Team. This role assists in implementing tactical efforts, analyzing data, and contributing to strategies aimed at promoting revenue growth generation across key customer segments and revenue centers, while supporting the hotel's brand positioning and image. The Assistant Director of Revenue and Reservations is responsible for data quality and analysis, gathering intelligence, and supporting the DRM in recommending revenue and e-commerce strategies to the Commercial Strategy team, as well as other corporate and ownership entities. Additionally, the role assists in ensuring that inventory allocation and pricing parameters are positioned to support the overall revenue goals of the hotel, contributing to maximizing profit.

This role is a key developmental position, focusing on in-depth analysis, tactical execution, and contributing to strategic decisions. The Assistant Director of Revenue and Reservations may deputize for the DRM in their absence, gaining valuable experience in leadership and overall revenue management oversight.

Focus:

Tactical implementation, in-depth analysis leading to recommendations, assistance in strategic planning, and stepping into leadership responsibilities when the DRM is absent. This role is hands-on and preparatory for the DRM position.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Director of Revenue Management in strategic planning and collaborates with all hotel profit generation teams to identify opportunities to drive incremental profit for Rooms, Restaurants, Spas, and other revenue streams.
  • Conducts in-depth analysis of market trends, competitive intelligence, and historical data to identify revenue opportunities and propose pricing and yielding tactics to the DRM.
  • Assists the DRM in fostering a strong Revenue Management Culture within the revenue generating departments of the hotel and helps to teach RM concepts within the hotel.
  • Utilizes Revenue Management analytics, technologies, processes, tools, and training programs to support hotel profit optimization efforts.
  • Contributes to the creation of short- and long-term forecasts, providing analysis to support decisions on pricing and yielding tactics.
  • Assists in the annual budget process and supports the production of long-term projections as required.
  • Prepares materials and attends ownership conversations and presentations as directed by the DRM.
  • Monitors relevant economic, market, and competitive set indicators and reports findings to the DRM to inform profit generation strategies.
  • Prepares materials for the weekly Revenue Management Meetings, following Brand guidelines, and actively participates in discussions.
  • Supports the maximization of room revenue contribution through a thorough understanding of all booking channels and assists in the management of inventory and rates therein.
  • Assists in maintaining a strong distribution health score
  • Assists in optimizing pricing, promotions, and availability strategies through data analysis and the management of rates, rate levels, stay restrictions, and other tactics, congruent with demand factors to target the most profitable customer segments to maximize profits.
  • Supports the execution of channel distribution strategies and assists in evaluating new business opportunities related to booking channels.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing team to execute, measure, evaluate, and improve digital marketing efforts, in support of the hotel strategic marketing plans and established budgets.
  • Assists the Marketing team in managing performance reviews with OTA/CTO partners, keeping up-to-date on each partner’s distribution options and extranet maintenance to ensure optimal display of the hotel. Supports the evaluation of extranet enhancements.
  • Maintains data quality and system hygiene for RMS, CRS (ORS and TARS), Rate shopping system, TravelCLICK products, and hotel-specific platforms, following Accor standards, recommendations, and procedures.
  • Supports content management in all electronic channels, liaising with the hotel Marketing team to ensure regular updates of images and descriptions of the hotel, room brands, outlets, and services are completed.
  • Liaises with GRC and Distribution services teams as directed.
  • Monitors and reports on local market competitors to keep informed of trends and news.
  • Acts as on-site oversight for the Reservations Team, along with the Reservations Manager

  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets

Physical Demands

  • This position requires the ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous. Occasional standing, walking, lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor degree in Hotel Management, Accounting, Finance, or Mathematic preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of Revenue Management experience

Visa Requirements: Must provide proof of eligibility to work in Mexico.
