As the Project Manager – NZTA Portfolio your role is to manage assigned NZTA portfolio projects and work packages from initiation through to delivery, transition and closure. You'll lead project planning, governance, stakeholder engagement and delivery coordination, ensuring projects are delivered within agreed scope, timeframes, quality expectations and governance standards. You'll also play a key role in coordinating change and release management activities, supporting successful deployments and operational transitions while contributing to continuous improvement across project delivery practices.
Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do- Deliver NZTA projects and work packages within agreed scope, time, quality and governance expectations.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, risks, issues and dependencies.
- Coordinate internal delivery teams, vendors, suppliers and customer stakeholders.
- Manage project governance, reporting, delivery assurance and project administration.
- Support financial tracking, billing inputs and commercial administration.
- Lead project meetings, delivery reviews, stakeholder forums and project closure activities.
- Manage project risks, issues, changes and dependencies throughout delivery.
- Coordinate change and release activities, including planning and implementation readiness.
- Prepare CAB/TCAB submissions, RFC documentation, communication and rollback plans.
- Ensure deployment readiness, approvals and prerequisite activities are completed.
- Maintain Jira, delivery trackers, dashboards and change records.
- Coordinate outage communications, deployment notifications and post-implementation reporting.
- At least three years' project management experience within a technology environment.
- Proven experience delivering customer-facing technology projects or work packages.
- Strong project planning, scheduling, governance and reporting capability.
- Experience managing risks, issues, dependencies, scope and delivery priorities.
- Understanding of change governance, release management and CAB/TCAB processes.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and facilitation skills.
- Experience coordinating vendors, suppliers, technical and operational teams.
- Working knowledge of Jira, MS Project, ServiceNow, Teams, SharePoint, Sentient or SAP.
- Understanding of service transition, operational readiness and BAU handover.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and delivery assurance skills.
