Job Summary
We are seeking a Health Information Management (HIM) Analyst with 2+ years of experience in healthcare information management, medical records, coding, documentation, and compliance processes. The ideal candidate will support healthcare operations by ensuring the accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and accessibility of patient health information while adhering to regulatory and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, and maintain electronic health records (EHR) and patient documentation.
- Ensure medical records are complete, accurate, and compliant with healthcare regulations.
- Support chart review, document management, record completion, and release of information processes.
- Perform quality audits and identify documentation deficiencies.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information in accordance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with clinical, operational, and administrative teams to resolve documentation issues.
- Generate reports and analyze HIM-related metrics and performance indicators.
- Support compliance, accreditation, and audit activities.
- Participate in system testing, process improvement initiatives, and workflow optimization.
- Maintain documentation, standard operating procedures, and process guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Life Sciences, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Pharmacy, or a related healthcare field.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in Health Information Management (HIM), Medical Records, Medical Coding, Clinical Documentation, or related healthcare operations.
- Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Strong understanding of healthcare documentation standards and medical terminology.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, healthcare compliance, and patient data privacy regulations.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Mandatory Certification
Candidates must possess at least one of the following certifications:
- RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator)
- RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician)
- CCS (Certified Coding Specialist)
- CCS-P (Certified Coding Specialist – Physician-Based)
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder)
- Certified Documentation Specialist (CDS)
- AHIMA Certification (Relevant HIM Certification)
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting U.S. healthcare organizations.
- Knowledge of medical coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
- Experience in healthcare compliance and regulatory audits.
- Familiarity with healthcare quality and documentation improvement initiatives.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
