The Sr. Software Engineer III designs, develops, tests, and maintains enterprise software applications that support DLA's AI/ML modernization initiatives. Working across the full software development lifecycle, the role translates technical requirements into secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions while collaborating with architects, data engineers, and Government stakeholders to deliver mission-critical capabilities.

What you’ll do:
- Design, develop, and enhance enterprise software applications that support DLA's AI/ML and advanced analytics initiatives.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into functional software solutions.
- Develop, test, debug, and integrate software components within the AWS GovCloud environment.
- Collaborate with software architects, requirements analysts, testers, and Government stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable applications.
- Participate in Agile sprint planning, code reviews, technical design sessions, and software demonstrations.
- Develop and execute unit, integration, system, and performance tests while resolving software defects and improving application quality.
- Support application deployments, configuration management, and production releases using established change management processes.
- Troubleshoot production issues, implement enhancements, and optimize application performance throughout the software lifecycle.
- Prepare technical documentation, design artifacts, and software release packages to support deployment, sustainment, and future enhancements.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience as permitted by the solicitation).
- Ten (10) years of relevant experience in software engineering, application development, or systems development.
- Experience designing, developing, testing, debugging, and implementing enterprise software applications.
- Experience analyzing software requirements and translating them into technical designs and software solutions.
- Experience developing software throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including development, testing, deployment, and sustainment.
- Experience integrating applications with databases, APIs, and other enterprise systems.
- Experience using source code management and configuration management tools (e.g., Git or equivalent).
- Experience supporting software testing, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and production deployments.
- Ability to work effectively in an Agile software development environment.
- Must possess an IT-II (Non-Critical Sensitive) security clearance or Tier 3 (T3) background investigation (equivalent to a position of public trust; not a Secret security clearance) at the time of proposal submission.
SALARY RANGE: $150,000 - $175,000
The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including:
- The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
- The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
- Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
- This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar, which may include:
- Performance-based bonuses
- Company-paid training and/or certifications
- Referral bonuses
