The Sr. Cloud Database Administrator (Snowflake Platform) will design, implement, secure, optimize, and maintain the enterprise Snowflake platform within AWS cloud environments. This role is responsible for platform administration, security, governance, performance optimization, automation, and operational excellence while partnering with Data Engineering, Analytics, DevOps, and Security teams to deliver a scalable and secure cloud data platform.

What you will do
  • Administer and maintain the Snowflake platform, including databases, schemas, warehouses, roles, users, resource monitors, and data-sharing capabilities.
  • Design and implement scalable Snowflake architectures to support enterprise analytics, data engineering, and AI/ML workloads.
  • Develop and maintain Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), row-level security, masking policies, network policies, and data governance standards.
  • Optimize warehouse sizing, query performance, clustering strategies, storage utilization, and overall platform cost efficiency.
  • Design and implement secure data sharing, external stages, storage integrations, Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, Dynamic Tables, and other native Snowflake capabilities.
  • Develop backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies using Snowflake Time Travel, Fail-safe, replication, and cross-region replication features.
  • Automate Snowflake deployments using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Terraform, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar technologies.
  • Develop and maintain version-controlled SQL objects, including databases, schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, tasks, streams, sequences, and security objects.
  • Monitor platform health, resource consumption, query performance, and security events using Snowflake monitoring capabilities and enterprise observability tools.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to support dbt, Airflow, ELT pipelines, and enterprise data integration initiatives.
  • Develop Python and SQL automation to simplify administrative tasks, platform provisioning, monitoring, and operational processes.
  • Partner with Security, Architecture, and Governance teams to implement platform standards, compliance requirements, and operational best practices.
  • Mentor database administrators and data engineers on Snowflake administration, platform standards, and operational excellence.
  • Stay current with Snowflake features, cloud technologies, and industry best practices, recommending opportunities for platform improvements.
  • Document platform architecture, administration procedures, standards, and operational runbooks.
What you will bring
  • Minimum of 8 years of database administration experience, including 3+ years administering enterprise Snowflake environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Snowflake architecture, virtual warehouses, storage, compute optimization, and platform administration.
  • Hands-on experience implementing Snowflake security, including RBAC, masking policies, row access policies, network policies, and secure data sharing.
  • Experience designing and optimizing Snowflake performance, workload management, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Experience with Snowflake native capabilities, including Tasks, Streams, Dynamic Tables, Snowpipe, External Tables, Secure Views, and Stored Procedures.
  • Experience managing Snowflake across AWS cloud environments.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and modern cloud data platforms.
  • Experience using Git-based source control and CI/CD pipelines for Snowflake object deployments.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar automation tools.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with Python or Shell scripting for platform automation.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional technical teams.
What will set you apart
  • SnowPro Core Certification or SnowPro Advanced Certifications.
  • Experience with dbt, Apache Airflow, Terraform, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar DevOps platforms.
  • Experience implementing enterprise data governance and security frameworks.
  • Experience administering cloud data platforms within AWS.
  • Experience supporting enterprise analytics, AI/ML, and modern data platform initiatives.

Base Salary Range

$114,000.00 - $165,300.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
