Company Description

At Lakeshore, we create innovative learning materials and world-class guest experiences for teachers, parents and children. Since 1954, we’ve grown into a global community—with a thriving e-commerce business, multiple catalogs, over 50 stores, a peerless national sales force, plus international offices that support our preeminent supply chain division. But today we’re working better, smarter and faster than ever—and setting our sights even higher. We’re building an infrastructure designed for scalability, embracing data-driven decision-making and using technology to improve efficiency and ensure the best tools for the best work. Most importantly, we continue to invest in a diverse team of inquisitive top talent who fuel each other’s passions and curiosity, take risks, try new things and believe that every new day brings opportunities for growth.

Job Description

Bids are how Lakeshore reaches the schools, districts, and institutions that need our products most — and this role sits at the center of that process. As a Bid Analyst I, you'll own the end-to-end coordination of bid responses: reviewing solicitations, building accurate pricing, and making sure every submission goes out complete and compliant. It's detail-intensive, deadline-driven work that directly shapes our ability to get learning materials into the hands of educators and children.

A day in the office looks like this:

  • Manage bid responses from intake to submission — reviewing solicitation documents, coordinating required materials, and ensuring every RFI, RFQ, and RFP goes out accurate and on time
  • Build, validate, and submit customer pricing by cross-referencing product data, contract requirements, and pricing files to confirm accuracy before every submission
  • Catch and resolve discrepancies, compliance gaps, and documentation issues early, taking ownership of each assigned opportunity through successful submission
  • Partner with cross-functional teams — including sales, contracts, legal, and operations — to align on bid strategy and make sure customer requirements are fully addressed
  • Track multiple active bids simultaneously, managing competing deadlines without letting accuracy or compliance slip

Qualifications

Got the skills and experience? Here’s what we’re looking for:

Required:

  • 2–3 years of experience in bid/proposal coordination, contracts administration, pricing, sales operations, procurement, or a closely related business function.
  • Demonstrated ability to review and interpret solicitation documents, specifications, and contractual language accurately.
  • Hands-on experience developing, entering, validating, or maintaining customer or contract pricing.
  • Strong working proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work hybrid from our Carson, CA office on a regular basis.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with government or institutional procurement processes (e.g., public education, cooperative purchasing)
  • Experience working within a bid management platform or contract lifecycle management tool
  • Exposure to cross-functional environments where you've coordinated with sales, legal, or operations teams

What sets you apart:

  • You treat a submission deadline as a hard line, not a suggestion — and you build your workflow around it
  • When you spot something that doesn't add up, you dig until you understand it, not just flag it and move on
  • You ask good questions early so small issues don't become last-minute problems
  • You stay steady and precise when the volume picks up, without needing someone to check your work at every step
