This position is located in the Branch Services Department, at SCDMV Headquarters, Blythewood, SC.


Responsibilities of the Business Analyst II

•  Serves as the Business Analyst (BA) II for Branch Services and works directly with the agency's business analysts to ensure leaders have broad awareness of changes forthcoming from other areas of the agency and communicate updates to Branch Administration and ensure they’re taking appropriate steps to inform the workforce and public. Attends BA meeting (unless previously scheduled leave) and notes each update from other directorates.

•  Understands the details of IT tickets from other directorates to be able to communicate its details. Assists with the writing and review of business specifications and creation of IT tickets, when needed, and assists with submission of tickets to IT personnel for inclusion in code moves.

•  Prepares Branch Services reports which may include mileage reports for BS fleet vehicles, as well as statistical data that is tracked daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly.

•  Processes invoices for payment, prepares shopping carts, and completes P-card purchases as needed.

•  Performs other duties as assigned.

Examples of dutiesMinimum Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted with prior approval.
Agency Requirements

  • Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include finger printing.
 
Additional Requirements

  • Knowledge of the agency's mission, programs, and strategic objectives; knowledge of SC motor vehicle laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively internally and with external stakeholders/customers. 
  • Ability to coordinate, track and complete multiple actions.
  • Ability to guide users through systems requirements and testing of business processes.
  • Ability to make presentations and prepare Branch Services reports.
  • Proficiency in the Phoenix system and MS Office products is required.
  • This position reports directly to the Deputy Director of Branch Services and requires strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Must possess a high degree of self-motivation and integrity with the ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Must ensure that SCDMV policies and operational procedures are followed.
  • Based at SCDMV Headquarters. Responsible for assisting with implementing programs across SCDMV to include Branch Office locations.
  • Must possess a valid SC driver's license.
  • Works in a climate-controlled office. 
  • May be required to work extended hours outside of the normal schedule. 
  • Some overnight travel may be required. 
  • Requires sitting for prolonged periods at a computer.
