Digantara is a leading Space Surveillance and Intelligence company focused on ensuring orbital safety and sustainability. With expertise in space-based detection, tracking, identification, and monitoring, Digantara provides comprehensive domain awareness across regimes, allowing end users to have actionable intelligence on a single platform. At the core of its infrastructure lies a sophisticated integration of hardware and software capabilities aligned with the key principles of situational awareness: perception (data collection), comprehension (data processing), and prediction (analytics). This holistic approach empowers Digantara to monitor all Resident Space Objects (RSOs) in orbit, fostering comprehensive domain awareness.
Join our team as a CAD Engineer, where your creativity and technical precision will directly shape the future of satellite missions. In this role, you will craft detailed fabrication drawings and CAD models for payloads and satellite subsystems, with every line you draw contributing to hardware that launches into space.
Why Us?
Competitive incentives, galvanizing workspace, blazing team, frequent outings—pretty much everything you have heard about a startup + you get to work on space technology.
Hustle in a well-funded startup allowing you to take charge of your responsibilities and create your moonshot.
Ideal Candidate:
Have a strong foundation in CAD modelling and drafting, with the ability to understand engineering requirements and develop detailed components, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.
Responsibilities
Create 3D CAD models and subsystem assemblies using parametric modelling techniques.
Support configuration and accommodation studies to evaluate design concepts and ensure proper component fitment and integration.
Generate high-quality engineering renderings for design reviews, presentations, and technical documentation.
Produce detailed 2D engineering drawings, including isometric views, exploded assemblies, and comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOM).
Apply DFM and DFA principles to optimize manufacturability and assembly.
Ensure engineering designs comply with ASME Y14.5 (GD&T) and relevant ISO standards.
Validate component fitment through tolerance stack-up analysis.
Perform dimension and tolerance checks to verify drawing accuracy before release.
Coordinate with suppliers to validate designs and provide CAD data exports (STEP, IGES).
Maintain and control documentation, including revision control of drawings, manufacturing instructions, quality records and CAD book-keeping.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
1–4 years of experience in CAD modelling, mechanical design, or engineering drafting for precision machinery, instruments or scientific equipment.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as Siemens NX, SolidWorks (relevant CAD software training or certification is an added advantage).
Experience in parametric modelling, configuration studies and rendering techniques.
Good understanding of GD&T practices, tolerance stack-up and engineering drawing standards (ASME Y14.5 or ISO).
Prepare and review fabrication, machining and assembly drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with engineering standards before release.
Exposure to materials and machining/fabrication techniques.
Familiarity with document and revision control systems.
Preferred Skills
Experience working on scientific instruments or special purpose machinery.
Good communication skills to work with engineers, vendors, and shop floor teams.
Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and clarity in engineering documentation.
Basic knowledge of mechanical design concepts, tolerancing, and fits & limits.
General Requirements
Ability to work in a mission-focused, operational environment.
Ability to think critically and make independent decisions.
Interpersonal skills to enable working in a diverse and dynamic team.
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
Verbal and written communications skills as well as organizational skills.
