Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a full-time Sepsis Quality Coordinator to work alongside our Medical Affairs Department.
Under the supervision of the Director of MHN Quality and Patient Safety, the incumbent is responsible for informal chart abstraction, reporting of quality performance indicators, and provides leadership and coordination of evidence-based activities to support improved care for the sepsis patient population through early identification and treatment. Coordinator evaluates and monitors the quality of patient care at Cabell Huntington Hospital ensuring compliance of best practices for all sepsis related quality measures. The coordinator will assist in training staff in new or improved clinical practices. The position is responsible for providing direction and coordinating the development, implementation, and evaluation of the hospital’s overall quality improvement program. The coordinator will supervise, facilitate, develop, coordinate and evaluate the clinical and educational strategies of patients admitted to CHH related to the care of the septic patient. Ensures high quality and cost-efficient care that is in accordance to the organization’s vision for the identification and management of severe sepsis and septic shock. Is responsible for managing all aspects of sepsis care and working with all areas of leadership on bedside care. The Sepsis Coordinator is responsible for assuring all sepsis standards are met as required by accrediting agencies, and monitors and implements changes that positively impact the quality performance of the sepsis initiative by staff and licensed practitioners. The Sepsis Coordinator will also collaborate with clinical documentation specialists to help with appropriate documentation to optimize coding.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
- West Virginia RN or LPN License required.
- 2+ years of position-related experience required.
- Adult Critical care or emergency department experience preferred
