Developer, IIB ESB

Overview The Developer – IIB/ESB will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing IBM Integration Bus (IIB) solutions that support MUFG Pension & Market Services’ Superannuation Funds platform. This role is critical in ensuring the stability and performance of existing integration flows while also contributing to the design and development of new features that align with evolving business needs. Working closely with Senior Developers and Technical Leads, the Developer will participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The Developer will also be expected to troubleshoot issues, ensure compliance with architectural standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives across integration services.

• Take responsibility for developing high-quality, quick-to-market IT solutions within an Agile environment using IIB and other IBM technologies.

Operational Management 

• Develop high-quality, quick-to-market IT solutions within an Agile environment.
• Troubleshoot application issues, resolve coding bugs, and address performance bottlenecks.
• Provide input on business processes to deliver commercially sound and effective solutions.

Governance & Risk 

• Ensure adherence to all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
• Support MUFG Group assurance programs by promoting effective risk management and compliance practices.
• Assist in the development of new team standards, methodologies, and processes to enhance the quality and efficiency of development work.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Experience & Personal Attributes Experience

• 3–6 years of experience in designing and developing solutions using IBM Message Broker, IBM Integration Bus (IIB), App Connect Enterprise, App Connect, and Java technologies.
• Expertise in developing message flows using various nodes and transport protocols, including SOAP, RESTful APIs, HTTP, MQ, JMS, AMQP, databases, SFTP, and file systems.
• Strong development experience with WSDL, XML, XSD, XSLT, JSON, and XPath.
• Strong experience in ESQL, building message flows, and managing broker builds and deployments.
• Hands-on experience in migrating IIB applications from WebSphere Message Broker (WMB) to IIB, and from IIB to App Connect Enterprise (ACE).
• Proficient in using tools such as Postman, SOAP UI, and ARC for API testing and validation.
• Solid understanding of IIB configuration and deployment procedures.
• Experience in message flow design and development using IBM Primitive nodes to transform messages to meet business needs.
• Demonstrated experience in Evaluating system performance, analysing results, and implementing configuration changes to enhance efficiency.
• Proven experience in resolving complex issues related to applications, data, and infrastructure to ensure system stability and reliability.
• Experienced in Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies, with a proven track record of contributing effectively within Agile teams.
• Strong understanding of source control, unit testing, and continuous integration and build practices.
• Hands-on experience with integration projects in Agile environments, using tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
