The EH&S Specialist I supports safety inspections and training activities while developing foundational EH&S expertise under the guidance of the Sr. EH&S Manager. This entry-to-mid-level role is the starting point for a career in construction safety management. Travel throughout the Southeast is required.
Requirements
Job Responsibilities (List is not inclusive)
· Assist with job site safety inspections and document observations under senior staff guidance
· Assist with incident and near-miss investigations and corrective action documentation
· Deliver basic safety training programs and toolbox talks to field crews as directed
· Distribute and track PPE and safety supplies across assigned job sites
· Track open corrective actions and follow up on closure status
· Assist with development and distribution of safety communications and alerts
· Participate in GC safety meetings and pre-task planning as directed
· Learn and develop proficiency in OSHA regulations and company safety standards
· Support the EH&S Leadership with special safety projects and program activities
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· 0-2 years of construction safety or field experience
· Developing knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 construction safety requirements
· OSHA 30-hour certification required or must obtain within 30 days
· Strong organizational and documentation skills
· Effective communication with field crews and management
· Reliable, safety-first mindset and professional conduct
· Valid driver's license with clean driving record required
Physical Requirements
· Regularly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with arms, and talk or hear.
· Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
· Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.
