Join Elia’s Settings & Software Interfaces team and play a direct part in ensuring the reliability, safety and development of the high-voltage electricity grid.
Your role
Within Elia Expertise & Standards, you will play a key role in the configuration, validation and improvement of the protection, automation and control systems (SPACS) deployed on the high-voltage grid.
Drawing on your expertise in Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), you will ensure the quality and consistency of the protection systems installed in the field and play an active part in their development to meet the energy challenges of the future.
Specifically, you will:
- Configure the IEDs used in the protection cabinets on the basis of the electrical and logic diagrams.
- Adapt and customise configuration standards to meet the specific requirements of the various high-voltage grid applications.
- Carry out quality controls and check that configurations comply with the protection concepts defined by Elia.
- Take part in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and contribute your technical expertise to the teams responsible for factory and on-site testing.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of technical standards by sharing your feedback and experience.
- Provide technical support to the engineering, commissioning and operations teams.
- Develop and maintain expertise in protection, automation and control systems for the high-voltage grid.
- Work closely with the Engineering, Project Management, Commissioning and Operational Assets teams to ensure the quality of the solutions implemented.

Ideally, you will have:
- A minimum 5 years of experience in the field of electrical protection, commissioning or similar activities.
- A bachelor’s degree or technical qualification in electricity, electronics or electromechanics.
- Knowledge of protection systems and associated software (Digsi, MiCOM Agile, ASR or equivalent) would be an advantage
- An analytical mind enabling you to tackle complex technical issues effectively.
- The ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
- Excellent communication skills and a constant willingness to learn and share your knowledge.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools.
- Proficiency in at least one of the national languages (French or Dutch) as a native language, with willingness to learn the other; English is a plus
